With the rapid advancement of drone technology, incidents of unauthorized or "black flying" have become increasingly common. In response to these growing concerns, DJI (Dajiang Innovation) has announced its commitment to working closely with the Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC) to strengthen drone security and implement a more robust real-name registration system.
The real-name registration initiative for drones has been in place for several months, but DJI and CAAC have recently taken steps to further enhance its effectiveness. As part of this effort, they have launched a pilot program aimed at streamlining the registration process and making it more user-friendly for drone owners.
Under the new pilot cooperation, users can now complete real-name registration directly through the DJI app, simplifying the process and reducing the time required. Additionally, DJI will pre-allocate QR codes for each drone before it leaves the factory, ensuring that users can easily comply with future requirements without additional hassle.
This collaboration is built on the foundation of the "Regulations on the Registration and Management of the Real-name System for Civil Unmanned Aerial Vehicles," which mandates that all drone owners register their devices by June 1, 2017. DJI has actively participated in discussions with CAAC to ensure smooth implementation and has contributed valuable feedback throughout the process.
The key aspects of the pilot program include:
1. Integration of the DJI app with the CAAC’s real-name registration system, allowing users to submit personal information and activate their drones seamlessly.
2. Pre-checking of real-name registration status for delivered drones and prompting users to complete the process if necessary.
3. Collecting only the essential data required for registration and submitting it securely to the CAAC system, with strict adherence to privacy and data protection policies.
4. Customizing QR code specifications based on the size and model of each drone to ensure compatibility and ease of use.
The pilot program is set to begin soon, with both DJI and CAAC aiming to provide a more efficient and convenient experience for drone users. DJI has emphasized its commitment to fully complying with all CAAC regulations and supporting the broader goal of safer and more responsible drone usage.
Through this initiative, DJI continues to play a leading role in promoting innovation while ensuring that safety and regulatory compliance remain top priorities.
