OSRAM Opto Semiconductors introduces the new Oslon Signal, an LED that emits the brightest blue light in the world today. It is made with special thin-film technology that works well even at high currents and provides long-lasting, dazzling, bright blue light. It delivers a dazzling blue light for the police car and emergency service vehicle lights.
Oslon Signal has a luminous flux of up to 52 lm at 350 mA and an emission wavelength of 472 nm. All color BINs are fully compliant with EU and US signal standards, especially in relation to emergency vehicle lighting. The Oslon product family is well-known for its packaging. It consists of a ceramic substrate with built-in connection contacts and a silicon lens that remains stable under the aging effects of short-wave blue light.
Oslon Signal uses a high-performance UX:3 technology chip that maintains excellent performance even at very high currents. Since blue light signals are often powered by pulsed currents, higher luminous power is required at high currents, so the above performance is particularly important. Despite its power, the LED is only 3 x 3 mm. In addition, it is equipped with an insulating heat sink for easy installation, especially when combined with traditional FR4 boards. The lens of the Oslon Signal LED has an 80° angle of radiation that provides a highly symmetrical light output.
