Diodes' new MOSFET optimized for VoIP applications can greatly reduce costs

Diodes has introduced two N-channel MOSFETs, bringing a more rugged solution to designers of VoIP communications equipment, greatly reducing circuit complexity and cost.

The ZXMN15A27K and ZXMN20B28K have been specially designed to meet the stringent requirements for the primary switch position in the transformer in various VoIP applications based on subscriber line interface circuit (SLIC) DC / DC converters. These applications cover broadband voice systems, PBX systems, cable and DSL gateways.

The breakdown voltages (BVDSS) of the two new devices are 150V and 200V, respectively, which can withstand the high pulse avalanche energy and communication modes in the SLIC environment without the need for additional protection circuits. With the correct choice of transformers, these MOSFETs can drive line voltages above 150V and provide multiple subscriber lines with loop lengths of over 6 kilometers.

The low input capacitance of these MOSFETs makes it easy to drive directly from the SLIC control IC with little or no buffering, further simplifying the circuit design and reducing the number of components and cost. ZXMN20B28K can also achieve low gate drive at logic level.

Both ZXMN15A27K and ZXMN20B28K are packaged in TO252-3L.
