Liu Zhihong, director of the Guzhen Office of Zhongshan Inspection and Quarantine Bureau, told reporters that Zhongshan currently has more than 100 companies in the business of Christmas lighting export. In the first 11 months, 2712 batches of Christmas lights (including outdoor lights) and $55.77 million were exported, and the overall quality was good. In the past, the mainstream of the market was a Christmas light made of incandescent lamps. But now, more and more manufacturers have begun to pay attention to the production capacity of LED Christmas lights, making full use of its high energy efficiency, high brightness and durability.
According to reports, Christmas lighting and other products, once they do not meet the export standards, may be subject to risk of being returned or not accepted by consumers; if the quality is not qualified or used improperly, it is more likely to cause fire, electric shock and other dangers, threatening personal safety. To this end, the inspection and quarantine department has strengthened the export supervision of Christmas lighting. Liu Zhihong said that Christmas lighting has been included in the inspection project in 2008, but enterprises only need to report, and the inspection unit does not charge for inspection.
