Instructions for Building Materials Flammability Tester

1. Structure and Installation

The flammability tester is composed of a combustion chamber, a burner, a test stand, a pressure regulator, and other essential components. A propane (liquefied gas) tank is included for fuel supply.

Before installation, make sure the base is placed correctly inside the main housing. As shown in Figure 1, assemble the fixing sleeve, sample holder, and other necessary parts. Position the burner in front of the sample. The burner rod should be screwed from the outer casing into the burner base. Connect the propane meter to the gas cylinder, then link the pressure regulator to the other end of the propane meter using a plastic tube. Finally, connect the pressure regulator to the burner with a pneumatic hose.

2. Test Operation

1. Use a suitable ignition device and place it above the burner.

2. Insert the sample into the sample holder and secure it properly.

3. Once the burner is close to the sample, lock the ruler on the base plate to ensure proper positioning.

4. Place a piece of filter paper in an aluminum foil tray and position it beneath the test specimen.

5. Raise the burner, open the pressure regulator, and ignite the nozzle using an electronic igniter. Adjust the flame length to approximately 20mm. Tilt the burner at a 45-degree angle as required by the testing standard to ignite the sample.

3. Safety and Operational Notes

1. Before lighting the burner, adjust the pneumatic pressure valve first, then gradually turn the pressure regulator knob. After ignition, you can fine-tune the flame size using either the pressure regulator or the pneumatic adjustment valve.

2. Always keep the liquefied gas cylinder and the burner at a safe distance before ignition to prevent accidents.

3. Ensure that the exhaust hood is properly connected to remove smoke and fumes from the testing area. This helps maintain a safe and clear environment during the test process.
