Asphalt Dynamic Viscometer Test Preparation 1. Vacuum Decompression Capillary Viscometer: One set of equipment is required. 2. Capillary tube: The shape of the capillary is shown in Figure 1. The model and size are listed in Table 1. 3. Thermometer: Range from 50°C to 100°C, with a scale division of 0.1°C. 4. Constant Temperature Water Bath: Made of hard glass, it should be filled with enough water to cover the viscometer. The highest time mark must be at least 20mm below the liquid level. It should have automatic heating, temperature control, a stirrer, and clamping devices. The temperature difference between different areas of the bath should not exceed 0.1°C. The temperature control precision of the device should be within 0.1°C. 5. Vacuum Decompression System: It should achieve a vacuum level of 40kPa ±66.5Pa (equivalent to 300mmHg ±0.5mmHg). All connections must be airtight to prevent any leakage. When the capillary pressure-reducing valve is opened during measurement, no negative pressure should be created. A vacuum pump should be connected to the open end to evacuate the system. 6. Stopwatch: It should have an accuracy of 0.1 seconds, with a total range of 15 minutes. The error should not exceed ±0.05%. This detailed setup ensures accurate and reliable measurements when using an asphalt dynamic viscometer. Each component plays a crucial role in maintaining the stability and precision of the test environment. Proper calibration and maintenance of all instruments are essential to ensure consistent results. Always follow the manufacturer's guidelines for operation and safety.
