Today, Pony Ma, the chairman and CEO of Tencent's board of directors, participated in the "2017 China Integration Conference" and delivered a speech titled "Reflections and Exploration of the Convergence Between the Two Economies in the Digital Age."
In his speech, Ma Huateng emphasized, "Over the next two decades, China’s manufacturing sector must deeply integrate with the Internet to succeed. The key lies in whether we can establish a smart platform and innovation ecosystem encompassing software, hardware, and services. During this critical phase of China's industrial transformation, Tencent Cloud stands ready to support 'Made in China.' As an Internet company, Tencent aims to continue acting as a 'connector' to break down the 'information silos' within the manufacturing industry. By offering cloud platforms, Internet experiences, and operational capabilities both domestically and internationally, we aim to provide tailored 'digital components' to Chinese manufacturers for their smart manufacturing endeavors."

Tencent Cloud has always prioritized creating value for its clients as its core mission. It envisions itself as a "path builder," dedicated to establishing connections between value sources and industry clients, including those in the industrial sector. Leveraging Tencent's robust R&D capabilities and integrated ecosystem, it builds an advanced information superhighway supported by technologies like cloud computing, big data, and artificial intelligence. This infrastructure enables industries across the board to reach value-creation destinations faster, more conveniently, and more stably.
Beyond excelling in gaming, social networking, and TMT sectors, Tencent has been actively engaging traditional industries such as automotive, finance, and energy in recent years. Through deep dives into these fields, Tencent has identified pain points in digital transformation and developed industry-specific intelligent cloud solutions. This effort constructs solid digital highways for the transformation of traditional enterprises.
Ma Huateng underscored the pivotal role of manufacturing in driving the digital economy. Drawing from Tencent's experience in implementing the "Internet+" initiative, he noted that the Internet+ serves as a tool, the digital economy is the outcome, and the Internet's transformative power is the ultimate goal, with the manufacturing industry being its primary battleground.
Tencent has consistently opened up its technological resources to aid manufacturing firms in enhancing their IT capabilities. For instance, Tencent Cloud collaborated with Sany Heavy Industry to connect 300,000 global devices to the cloud, collecting nearly 10,000 operational parameters in real-time. With cloud computing and big data analytics, Sany Heavy Industry achieved remote equipment monitoring, enabling repairs within two hours and completion within 24 hours while significantly reducing spare parts inventory.
Building on its partnership with Sany, Tencent Cloud teamed up with Shugen to develop the "Root Cloud" industrial Internet platform, now covering 30 sub-sectors, compatible with 95% of communication and controller protocols, and capable of activating trillions of industrial assets for 380,000 SMEs, facilitating industrial transformation.
Additionally, Tencent Cloud partnered with Shenzhen Hualong Xunda Information Technology Co., Ltd. (Hualong Schindler) to develop a smart transportation solution for Shenzhen Bus Group. By installing data collection terminals on buses, real-time data from over 500 dimensions—vehicles, passengers, and road conditions—are sent to the cloud via Tencent Cloud's secure network. Using cloud computing and big data analytics, the solution offers real-time visualizations through the RayData big data visualization interactive system, streamlining centralized dispatch management for the bus group.
Xie Yuefeng, Vice President of Tencent Cloud, remarked, "This smart transportation solution exemplifies the industrial Internet platform developed by Tencent Cloud and Hualong Schindler in the transportation sector. Such standardized platforms can be extended to more industrial enterprises, including manufacturing, energy, and utilities. We look forward to using our cloud technology expertise to assist more businesses in achieving industrial intelligence upgrades."
At the conference, the National Industrial Information Security Development Research Center (under the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology Electronics First Research Institute), Tencent, and Hualong Xunda held a strategic cooperation signing ceremony to jointly develop an industrial Internet platform with independent intellectual property rights. They also announced the establishment of the "Internet+ Industrial Research Center" to foster collaboration among government, industry, academia, and users, promoting the implementation and application of industrial Internet platforms to drive the convergence of China's dual economies.
