To demonstrate that each product being tested is brand new and unopened, we’ll include all six models in the demolition process. Cool Open 55A3 – Unboxing Fresh Out of the Box
The packaging box features a vibrant orange element that adds a youthful touch to the Internet TV brand. Some might not be familiar with this brand, but Cooltech actually grew out of Skyworth’s legacy, inheriting its 30 years of expertise in TV manufacturing. Interestingly, Cool Open was established in 2006 and has witnessed the evolution of the TV industry over the past decade. It's fair to say that Cool Open was one of the pioneers in creating the Internet TV brand.
On June 6th, Cool Open held a press conference in Beijing to unveil their new A3 series TVs. Building on the “Hi-Fi content†feature of the previous A2 series, the A3 series incorporates eye-protection technology and artificial intelligence voice capabilities. The emphasis on blue light protection is particularly noteworthy, as it’s a relatively uncommon feature in the industry. Based on previous reviews from reputable sources like Zhongguancun, we can confirm that the Cool Open 55A3 TV's anti-blue light technology is quite effective.
The packaging of the TV is simple yet elegant. Incorporating Cool Open’s signature orange hue, it exudes the youthful energy typical of an Internet brand. Inside the box, the structure is compact and well-thought-out, with additional foam boards and a hard paper shell for double protection. Having previously reviewed this model, I’m already familiar with the unboxing and installation process, so let’s jump straight into the installation.
From a product configuration standpoint, the 6 JBL speakers are a standout feature of the Cool Open 55A3, making it quite appealing. The TV boasts an all-metal body, an original LGD IPS 4K hard screen, and uses the annual flagship chip Mstar 6A938. Both online and local 4K video decoding are seamless. With 3GB DDR3 triple-channel memory and 16GB eMMC5.0 storage, it’s equipped with ample performance capabilities.
The accessories include two stands, power cords, AV cables, a remote control, screws, and instructions. The back of the TV has a robust metallic look, adding to its durability and premium feel.
The 55A3 model carries forward the audio strengths of the A2 series, featuring six original JBL speakers. It employs a high-end stereo design with tweeters and mid-range and low-frequency drivers, ensuring rich and detailed sound. Additionally, the rear of the TV includes two independently mounted subwoofers, which further elevate the audio experience.
The remote control is sleek and ergonomically designed. Retaining Cool Open’s minimalist aesthetic, it has a compact body and a smooth matte finish. The 11-button layout ensures ease of use, even for older users or kids. Notably, all six TVs included in the evaluation come with a Bluetooth voice function, making operations faster and more intuitive.
Breaking away from traditional designs, the Cool Open 55A3 maintains the simplicity of the A2 series while enhancing its appeal. The ultra-narrow bezel increases the screen-to-body ratio, offering a more immersive viewing experience. Unlike previous models, the 55A3 sports a predominantly black color scheme with a gray linen front panel, elevating its overall sophistication and luxury. The Cool Open logo in the lower right corner adds a youthful touch.
The use of dark gray linen on the body gives the TV a低调 yet elegant appearance. This design choice breaks the monotony of a purely metallic body by blending linen fabric with a metallic frame, enhancing the TV’s luxurious feel and elevating its status.
In summary, the Cool Open 55A3 showcases three key design highlights: the ART5 floating bezel-less design, the linen front panel, and the diamond-strengthened metal backplate. The color and material choices are cleverly executed, maintaining a low-key elegance without compromising on luxury.
