February 9, 2011, US Consumer Product Safety Commission and American Tack & Hardware Co. Inc. (AmerTac for short) jointly announced the voluntary recall of LED night lights produced in China.
The three models of LED nightlights recalled were 71193, 71194 and 327879 respectively. The recall only included products with KML letters on the back of the night lights.
The number of recalled products was approximately 261,000 baht. The reason for the recall is that the nightlights are short-circuited, causing overheating, smoking, and melting, causing the user to burn or cause a fire. As of now, AmerTac. The company has received 18 reports of smoking, burning and melting of the LED night light, including three minor property damages and one personal injury accident.
To this end, the US Consumer Product Safety Commission recommends that consumers immediately stop using the recalled LED night light, cut off the power supply, and contact AmerTac for a full refund.
