AUO has already used its 3.5 generation low-temperature polysilicon production line for the production of AMOLED panels, which was over-completed by the end of the third quarter and trial production began at the end of this year.
Another panel maker, Chi Mei, will use its 4.5th generation line for the production of touch panels, and is shipping to Yuantai's TFT backend panel for electronic paper production.
Chunghwa Picture Tubes recently said that they use 70% of its 4.5th generation line in North Taiwan for touch sensors and projected capacitive touch panels.
