This article does not want to explore the legal and ethical issues here, just to talk about agricultural issues, or LED and agriculture.

As we all know, LED lighting has developed to the present day, and there has been a serious overcapacity problem. It should be said that the current LED light source is very mature in technology, and the application of LED light source in plant growth is a major breakthrough in recent years. As the nighttime illumination of crops, LED lights can solve the production problems caused by insufficient light, and can also achieve the benefits of energy saving and energy saving, increase farmers' income, and avoid the problem of using pesticides and ripening agents to ensure food safety.

Last year, the author went to Taiwan to observe the plant factory, and saw the state of growth of pepper, lettuce, white, asparagus, tomatoes and strawberries in the plant box. If the manufacturer allows it, you can even pick the chewing food directly, do not wash it with water, and don't worry about the pesticide residue problem, because no pesticide is used at all.

Taiwan has been using LED light sources for plant lighting for several years. Moreover, it is mainly used in crops with high added value of agriculture, such as A. chinensis, Dendrobium candidum, and B. chinensis. These plants are illuminated by LED lights, and grow very fast. The price after listing is high, and the return is several times that of general agricultural products. . The production cost is not high, because the LED lamp itself is energy-saving and has no light damage, which can make the crops stay up all night for photosynthesis, thus shortening the growth cycle.

Now, what we are most worried about is food safety, and it is difficult for traditional agriculture to solve this problem fundamentally. Because traditional agriculture is inseparable from natural water and soil, it is inseparable from meteorological factors such as climate and festivals. At present, there are pollution problems in natural water and soil, and pest problems in all seasons. It is basically impossible to completely eliminate the use of pesticides.

These problems are basically absent in the plant lighting factory. The growing environment of the crops is basically a sterile space. Even the staff should wear sterile clothes. The fruits and vegetables grown in this environment can be safely eaten.

So LED can save agriculture.
