Recently, China Unicom has officially launched the eSIM account activation service, marking a significant step forward in mobile connectivity. This new service allows users to activate eSIMs on their devices without needing a physical SIM card. While Apple Watch was one of the first to support this feature, other smartwatches such as the Huawei Watch 2 Pro and TicWatch S have also joined the list of compatible devices.
The LTE capability introduced in the Apple Watch Series 3 has been a major highlight this year. With eSIM activation, users can now enjoy standalone connectivity, allowing them to make calls, send messages, and access data directly from their watch. This feature is especially useful for those who want to stay connected without carrying their smartphone everywhere.
To apply for the eSIM service, users can download the China Unicom Mobile Business Hall app or visit a local business hall. Once the account is successfully activated, they can use the LTE service on supported devices. At the moment, only the Huawei Watch 2 Pro and TicWatch S are officially supported, but more devices are expected to be added in the near future.
