HTC accused of shrinking domestic CPU configuration or insufficient chip capacity

Recently, there is news that HTC OneS, a product that HTC has just entered the domestic market, has shrunk its CPU configuration compared with the European market. Yesterday, HTC’s head of public relations told reporters that the OneS domestic version of the CPU is indeed different from the overseas version, but it is not shrinking.

It is reported that HTC OneS was first used in the European market when the CPU used for the Qualcomm S4 series of MSM8260A dual-core processor, clocked at 1.5GHz. However, some time ago, when the model was listed on the Taiwan market, it was found that the CPU used was replaced by the Qualcomm S3 series MSM8260 clocked at 1.7GHz. The product that had just entered the mainland market last week was also the same as the Taiwanese version.

HTC's head of public relations admits that the CPU configuration is different, but denies that "shrinking". The responsible person said that the European version of the CPU clocked at 1.5GHz, while the domestic version was replaced with the previous generation, but the frequency is also raised to 1.7GHz. However, HTC did not explain why it would replace the product's CPU. Industry speculation may be that the chip's capacity is insufficient.
