Lattice Semiconductor and Leopard Imaging Launch USB 3.0 Camera for Industrial Applications

Portland, Oregon, USA — October 26, 2015 — Lattice Semiconductor Corporation (NASDAQ: LSCC), a leading supplier of customized smart interconnect solutions, today announced the leading supply of HD embedded camera market Leopard Imaging introduces a new USB 3.0 camera module with Lattice MachXO3 FPGA and USB 3.0 sensor bridge reference design.

Lattice Semiconductor and Leopard Imaging Launch USB 3.0 Camera for Industrial Applications

The camera module with MachXO3 FPGA and USB 3.0 sensor bridge reference design converts the subLVDS video signal from the image sensor in the module into a parallel format that can be used by the USB 3.0 controller in the camera. The ability to convert video signals to a USB controller compatible format makes the camera module suitable for a wide range of industrial systems.

Bill Pu, president of Leopard Imaging, said: "With a variety of video standards being used in embedded applications, it is our magic weapon to be able to convert various signals to any desired format according to the requirements of a particular industrial system. Lattice MachXO3 FPGAs provide us with the programmability, bridging, and small size required for USB 3.0 camera modules, and their sensor bridge reference design accelerates our process of applying Lattice technology to the final product."

Deepak Boppana, director of product marketing at Lattice Semiconductor, said: "The camera sensor connection is gaining more and more attention in embedded applications. Our MachXO3 FPGAs can deliver I/O rates up to 900 Mbps, so customers can convert high quality video images For any desired format, without sacrificing the overall performance of the video system."
